PHOTO: free range egg. over processed

Hi chaps, is my rejection based on the small red chicken logo I've added in P/shop please ?

We feel the image would have more value to designers with minimal or no post processing effects so that the designers could add their own post-processing effects."

Did you submit this photo with "Free Range" text/chicken? If yes - it's an answer for your question: it doesn't look natural.

For example the stamp is sharp where eggs are blured.

Agreed. The effect is a nice idea, but not very convincing. If you decide to have another go, I'd consider trying to make it a little bit darker and more prominent too. I'd also cut down on the white space surrounding it.

Thanks chaps, I'll try and get the effect to look better (or maybe I'll devise a way of physically 'stamping' the eggs).

I agree. If it's not reasonably obvious, it probably isn't going to work as a stock image.

This is especially true where details that don't show up in the thumbnail may cause an image to get passed over. As an alternate composition, I'd consider a much tighter shot, filling the frame with the egg or eggs, this would show the stamp clearly in the thumbnail. I'd definitely look at getting a kids printing kit too to make a real stamp on the eggs.

Side detail...did you draw the chicken yourself? If not, you can't use this artwork within a piece you are offering for commercial licensing.

Good point Donald but I did create the chicken image ... 

Great idea. I'd make the stamp in a darker color so it jumps off the egg. Maybe a nice foliage green or organic green if there is such a thing.
